Smoke Control Area status

London has address-dependent Smoke Control Area coverage. Do not infer the legal status from the city name or postcode-area prefix.

London City Hall says the majority of London is covered by Smoke Control Areas, but the boundary and enforcement sit with each borough. The London postcode prefixes used for pricing cross borough boundaries, so verify the installation address with the relevant council.

Inside a Smoke Control Area, use an authorised fuel or an appliance exempt for that UK nation with a fuel specifically permitted by its exemption. Use clean, untreated wood at 20% moisture or less. Ready to Burn is an English retail-sale certification, not the SCA legality test.
