Terms of Use

About these terms

These terms govern your use of LogBurnerCost (https://logburnercost.co.uk). By using the site you agree to be bound by these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

Calculator accuracy and liability

The cost calculator returns an estimate — a banded range of likely UK installed costs based on the inputs you provide and our calibrated model. It is not a quote. It is not a binding price. Actual installer quotes will vary based on factors we cannot see from your inputs (chimney condition, structural complications, local market dynamics, etc.).

We target ±20% accuracy versus real installer quotes. If your real quote falls outside our estimated range, we'd like to know — but we cannot accept any liability for differences between our estimate and any actual installer pricing.

We do not warrant that the site, the calculator, or any content is error-free or always available. Where we can be liable to you in law, our total liability for any matter arising from your use of the site is limited to £100.

Installer matching

When you submit the installer matching form, we pass your email, postcode, and scenario to up to three HETAS-registered installers in your area. We do not control:

  • What price the installer ultimately quotes you
  • How quickly the installer responds
  • The quality of the installer's work or service
  • Any contract or agreement you enter into with the installer

We vet installers for current HETAS registration before adding them to the matching panel. We do not warrant their financial stability, business conduct, or specific work quality. Any contract for installation is solely between you and the installer.

If a matched installer behaves badly, please tell us — email hello@logburnercost.co.uk. We'll investigate and may remove them from the panel.

Compliance, regulatory, and product information

Information about Building Regulations Part J, Smoke Control Areas, DEFRA Ecodesign rules, HETAS requirements, and product specifications is provided in good faith based on our research of UK government, HETAS, and industry sources as of the "last updated" date on each page. Regulations and product specifications change — verify the current position with the relevant authority (gov.uk, HETAS, the manufacturer, your installer) before making any decisions.

We are not a regulator, certification body, or licensed inspector. Nothing on this site constitutes legal advice or a regulatory opinion.

Affiliate links and product recommendations

On accessory pages we link to Amazon UK products. We may earn a small commission when you buy via those links — the price you pay does not change. We only link to products we've identified as genuinely well-reviewed UK products.

Brand and stove model recommendations across the site are based on warranty, regulatory position, owner sentiment in r/DIYUK and UK forums, and dealer support — never on commercial relationships with manufacturers. We do not take payment from stove brands for editorial placement.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, copy, or reproduce site content systematically without permission
